3 PIN DESCRIPTION

3.1. INTRODUCTION

The STPC Industrial integrates most of the func-

tionalities of the PC architecture. Therefore, many

of the traditional interconnections between the

host PC microprocessor and the peripheral devic-

es are totally internal to the STPC Industrial. This

offers improved performance due to the tight cou-

pling of the processor core and it’s peripherals. As

a result many of the external pin connections are

made directly to the on-chip peripheral functions.

Figure 3-1 shows the STPC Industrial’s external

interfaces. It defines the main busses and their

function. Table 3-1 describes the physical imple-

mentation listing signal types and their functionali-

ties. Table 3-2 provides a full pin listing and de-

scription.

Table 3-4 provides a full listing of the STPC Indus-

trial package pin location physical connection.

Please refer to the pin allocation drawing for refer-

ence.

Due to the number of pins available for the pack-

age, and the number of functional I/Os, some pins

have several functions, selectable by strap option

on Reset. Table 3-3 provides a summary of these

pins and their functions.
