The BC557 is a PNP (Positive-Negative-Positive) bipolar junction transistor (BJT) commonly used in electronic circuits for amplification and switching applications. Here are some key features and specifications of the BC557:

Polarity:

PNP transistors have a positive (hole) charge carrier as the majority charge carrier.
