General purpose timers (GPT)

SPEAr320S provides 6 general purpose timers.

Main features:

●

Each timer provides a programmable 16-bit counter and a dedicated prescaler able to

perform a clock division by 1 up to 256 (different input frequencies can be chosen

through configuration registers, in the range from 3.96 Hz to 48 MHz)

●

Operating modes:

–

Auto-reload mode: when a software-defined value is reached, an interrupt is

triggered and the counter automatically restarts from zero

–

Single-shot mode: when a software-defined value is reached, an interrupt is

triggered, the counter is stopped and the timer is disabled

●

Capture capability (only for 4 timers)

Pulse width modulators (PWM)

SPEAr320S integrates 4 PWM (pulse width modulation) signal generators.

Main features:

Prescaler to define the input clock frequency to each timer

●

Programmable duty cycle from 0% to 100%

●

Programmable pulse length
